Why you received this email
You followed a link from the headers of an email, or your mail app sent you here. This page explains who sent that message, why you got it, and what you can do about it.
Zedmail did not send you that email
Zedmail is a Canadian email delivery service. Our customers — software companies, publishers, small businesses — use us the way a business uses a courier: they write the message and choose who receives it, and we carry it. We do not own, buy, sell or supply mailing lists, and we never add an address to one.
The sender’s own address is in the From line of the message, and usually in Reply-To as well.
Why you, specifically
Only the sender can answer that, because only the sender holds the list and the record of how your address reached it — a form you filled in, an account you opened, a purchase you made. We do not have that record and cannot look it up for you. Replying to the message, or writing to the address in its From line, reaches the people who do.
How to stop them
If the message carries an unsubscribe link, or your mail app shows an Unsubscribe button beside the sender, use either — both take effect immediately and need no sign-in. If it carries neither, it was sent to you alone rather than to a list, and there is nothing to unsubscribe from: change your notification settings with the sender instead.
If you never agreed to any of this
Then we want to know, and it is worth telling us rather than only the sender. Reports of mail nobody asked for are how we find customers who are doing something we do not permit, and we act on them — up to stopping that customer from sending at all. Forward the message, with its full headers if your mail app can include them, to hello@zedmail.com. If the message is a phishing attempt or impersonates someone, say so in the subject line and we will treat it as urgent.
What we keep
If you unsubscribe or report a message as spam, we keep a record of your address so we can refuse later mail to it — that is the only way a suppression can work. Addresses on our service-wide record are stored hashed rather than in the clear. Our privacy notice sets out the rest, including how to ask for erasure.
